That's right.
I joined up here, went around the "latest things" page, and commented on a bunch of posts I found, and then lost track of what i had commented on.
It's important to me to methodically log everything I do or say on a website.
It's been about a month and some of the comments I made have got replies, from the writers of the blogs, and .......... no notifications. Did I turn them off? Is it morally incorrect to make my own post referencing every post I ever comment on?

I've been making posts on my other blog that are just short titles with no actual body content, as if i'm tweeting or screaming short things into the void. But being on here, it makes me want to write long posts. I don't do long posts, though. Ideas run out or tales of things i've encountered run out. I'd give fiction a go but I already decided I prefer drawing comic pages to writing random chapters. Because I'm an artist first and a writer second. And as much as it annoys me to re-draw the backgrounds again and again in every new panel, there's just something so special about seeing their faces do expressions that you just can't get from a block of text. And even if I write, I prefer it to be handwritten and not typed up. Little notations next to drawings or speech bubbles. Because every line of the drawing is already like handwriting. It would feel traitorous to stick in a photo or sticker, or a piece of typed text. Inconsistency in the shapes that I make but consistency in that all the things are made with my own scribbles. I can remember that I used to daydream all day (but not maladaptive daydreaming) and I KNOW that there were many stories, but back then I was apparently content to not make a record of any of it. I remember only the briefest of glimpses, like preserved gifs from a show that's disappeared. That time the base was invaded and he pushed her back into the room like "ssh, someone's here". I have a drawing of that split second where he shoves her and that's why I remember, but I don't remember who was invading the base and why, I have an inkling that he was imagining things and the base wasn't actually being raided??? And the origin of the story... Was it something I worked on alone or was it something I did alongside C? C, who, if I ever publish anything officially, has to be credited as a co-creator because the amount of stuff we worked on together!!!!!! This beast of creative energy and senpai who was always one step ahead of me in drawing skill, who somehow turns back to me and says I inspire her???? And it's been a while since we had that type of conversation, but I can just bring up the emotion of it whenever I feel like it. I read people on these blogs that struggle to make even one friend, let alone an art rival of equal skill. I do indeed wish an art rival of equal skill upon everyone. And I don't mean someone who you look up to that you just look at and don't actually interact with. It has to be someone who also talks to you or it doesn't count. Everyone who ever existed needs to uplaod their art to the internet and look at each others stuff, and make friends with each other (or at least approach) and then not only will the world be a better place because more people are good to each other but also i personally will be satisfied because there's art to look at.

I'm from tumblr where the norm is to post a copy of the original post on your blog, thats linked back to the op, and COVER it in paragraphs worth of tags such as "YOUR ART FUCKS" or "BITING YOU"

Not an excuse I know.

What I mean is that I don't yet know the culture here and is it acceptable to add random posts to your Memories section just because you like them, even if you haven't spoken to the poster?

It feels slightly more official than just doing a hyperlink to the person's post or page, like ... surely someone gets a notification that their post was added to someone's memories ... or something somewhere says "3 people added to memory" ... my ceaseless frantic fussing about what's appropriate.

Advice is welcomed.

Also. Over on Livejournal they assign post numbers based on everyone who is posting. It seems to be that there is a constant ticking of a 4 digit number. A post I made seconds after another one was a number a couple hundred bigger than the previous one. Here, is it done by .... how many you've posted? I've only made one post so far, that's named 272. But two of these links I posted already have 4 digit numbers and ......... one of them says 302640 ?????? Does that mean the person has made hundred thousand posts? Maybe I'll never figure it out. Maybe an Elder Of Dreamwidth will reveal the answer to me.

the absolute insanity (positive) that this site is capable of. people doing roleplay. What kind of account switching goes on here? Can I make a second, third, fourth account?

Really really excited about this space. Reminds me of the old web before algorithms. ESPECIALLY the latest things page, you can just scroll and see what's freaking new. no boosting.

It feels an awful lot like people are writing in their diaries or writing a letter to someone, but ...... the letter is for the public to read and anyone can respond. can we respond? Is there a function here that forbids comments on any posts you make?
